Reading

Did a lot of reading today, which felt good for a change, because otherwise I usually only manage about 10 pages a day (which really is nothing)... But after nearly 2 months with this book I am now quite eager to finally finish it. ;-) Will probably take 1 or 2 more weeks, though.
The book is "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" by Susanna Clarke, by the way. I don't actually love it, but it isn't bad. It's quite easy and fluent to read, despite the archaic spelling of a couple of words (e.g shew, chuse,...). And I really like the setting, 19th-century England around the time of the Napoleonic Wars. :-) I think I especially have to blame Sharpe and Hornblower for my fondness of that time. :D Plus I've always been interested in the French Revolution as well.

There are already 6 new books waiting on my "to read" pile. *yikes* At least 3 thereof I'm looking very much forward to: "Coraline", "The Book Thief" and "Tintentod" (Inkdeath). :-)

Happy Easter to everyone! I hope you are having some lovely days with many colourful Easter eggs. :D

Today I spent the whole day at my parents'. My granny was there too. We started with an extensive breakfast and later had some biscuits for tea time. We also tried to have a little walk at some point, but where only out for about 20 minutes before it started raining, so we went back home again. Oh, and I got some presents: the book "Tintentod" (Inkdeath), a wellness shower gel and lots of chocolate. :-)  In the evening we went out to a restaurant. I ate a sort of chicken+pineapple kebab with peanut sauce, rice and snow peas, which was all very yummy. Later we looked through some old photographs. That always is fun. *lol*

I sort of rediscovered Facebook and currently enjoy being a bit more active there, so I haven't really been around here very much... *blushes* :D Still trying to catch up with my flist now. ;-)

But there actually isn't that much exciting stuff going on anyway...

On Monday I bought tickets for Dieter Nuhr (a German comedian/cabaret artist) for November. *yay* Love him. I've already seen him live 4 times before, and it's always sooo funny!! <3 Totally looking forward to that!! :D

Yesterday I spent a fab day shopping. <3 Bought two reduced English books: "The Skin Gods" by Richard Montanari and "Cranford" by Elizabeth Gaskell. Also went back to the department store that is closing down this weekend. It's really empty by now and most of the stuff left is rather useless. But I was lucky and found two musical CDs for a real bargain price - 1,50€ and 4,80€! *yay* Normally they would be about 15€ each, if not even more...
In addition, my Amazon parcel with season 1 of Chuck and the book "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak arrived. :-)

In other news, I finished watching season 1 of Castle and love it more and more with each episode!! <3 It's so awesome and funny! Will start with season 2 shortly. Can't wait!! :-)
And I finally caught up on The Big Bang Theory. Hooray! :D

- Didn't quite manage to finish with "The Armstrong & Miller" Show yesterday, because I kept falling asleep on the sofa after episode 6 (well, it was rather late ;-) ) and had to go to bed... Will watch the last episode tonight though.
- Finished re-reading "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince" today, so now I'm all prepared to go to the cinema and watch the movie as soon as I find the time. *g* Not sure what I will be reading next. *mhh* Think it'll be either "Tintenblut" (Inkspell) or the second "Dexter" novel.
- I'm still mulling over what I should be wearing for my cousin's wedding tomorrow. I only have one dress, so that'll probably have to do. It's supposed to be very hot tomorrow so I don't really want to be stuck in long trousers...
