Bob Geldof @ Kieler Woche 2012
Jun. 17th, 2012 06:13 pmI was at the "Rathausbühne" (stage on the town hall square) early enough to get to the 2nd row in front of the stage. *yeah* First there was the official opening of the Kieler Woche at 7.30 pm (first time I've actually been there to see that ceremony...) and after approx. 5 minutes of, let's call it "clearing the stage" and mini soundcheck *g*, the concert started at about 7.45 pm.
And it was fantastic! :-) I must confess that I didn't really know much about "Sir Bob" before this and also only knew maybe 2-3 of his songs... But I had a great time and enjoyed the music. "The Irish can't play football... But we can play music." Haha. :D Yes, you can. He played for 1.5 hours and, best part of it, completely for free. :-)
( Have some photos... )
Oh, and I filmed "I Don't Like Mondays", 'cause I love that song. <3 Am quite pleased at how it turned out, too. :-)
The weather... Well, I'd say it was tolerable. Definitely could have been a lot worse. ;-) It started raining a little right when the concert started, of course... :p But thankfully it was just occassional light rain showers. Only near the end of the concert it started raining continously and didn't stop again, so I arrived home soaking wet after all. *lol* But then it didn't really matter anymore and the evening was totally worth it. :-)
Good
This may well be one of my favourite things in the world. ♥♥ Utterly beautiful song and perfectly sung. <3 I have lost count of how many times I have watched/listened to it (I also have it on my iPod) and I will never get tired of it.
I only found this a couple of days ago. I knew this song from one of John Barrowman's albums and love it. :-)
Another great song. :-) Sadly no video.
I also discovered the other day that a kind person uploaded a few clips of Hadley in "The Fresh Beat Band" episodes. I was really laughing my ass off and still can't get over them. *gg* They are just beyond hilarious. :D *rofl* *lol*
( "What's shaking?" *gg* )
I'm gonna go and (re-)watch the Phantom Of The Opera 25th Anniversary Concert now, to celebrate. <3
I guess I could also watch the movie "The Lost Tribe" again, only it's like, um... terrible? Awful? :p *lol* Phantom definitely is the better choice. ;-) *g* And maybe the student scenes from the Les Mis 25th Anniversary concert afterwards. :D
Matt Bomer on Glee
Apr. 13th, 2012 03:36 pmBut I think this is just really awesome, so I had to share it! <3<3
Have watched/listened to it countless times already and will keep doing so. :-)
* To be more precise, I have actually seen the pilot episode ages ago. But since then I've never really gotten around to watch more episodes. Not quite sure why. Probably not interested in it enough (or at least always more interested in other shows at the time :p) or just the usual "too many shows, too little time" problem or whatever... *shrugs* You know how it is. ;-) Anyway, I have seasons 1 and 2 lying around somewhere so I might just give it another go someday.
Phantom 25 videos
Oct. 8th, 2011 09:44 pmAnd I really hope they'll stay for a while. There's no way I can wait until the end of November for the DVD (leave alone February, when it's gonna be released here in Germany... *headdesk*) without at least little snippets like this! ;-) *g*

There's also "Point Of No Return" from the same uploader, but sadly it's not complete... Ah well, still better than nothing, I guess. ;-) And I don't seem to be able to get to the embedded code either, so you'd have to follow the link from YouTube: here.
And this:
If you find anything else, especially with Hadley/"Raoul" too, please let me know! Cheers. :-)
Thomas Borchert - If I sing...
Sep. 7th, 2011 01:43 pmThis is the only picture I managed to take, unfortunately, and the quality is really rotten. :-(
So I stole these from Facebook. ;-)
( click )
I also found this video on YouTube, which is kind of an official trailer for the concert tour with little song snippets. It brings back lovely memories. <3 His voice!! *bows*
Thank you for an amazing evening, Mr. Borchert, and please come back very soon!! ♥
Okay, I really start feeling like spamming you with this... *lol* Sorry. ;-)
But yesterday Hugh was a guest at the German TV show "Wetten, dass...?" (which I kinda hate, but bravely endured watching just for him :p *gg*). I have recorded his performance of "You Don't Know My Mind" and just uploaded it to YouTube, for anyone who's interested to take a look. :-)
Every time I hear this song I love it even more. <3
I bought his album yesterday, btw. Haven't listened to it properly yet, but will do so later today. :-)
Too bad one of my favourite songs from the concert ("Hallelujah, I Love Her So") isn't on it, though. *sniffles*

More Hugh Laurie live in Hamburg
Apr. 29th, 2011 11:14 pmI noticed several people filming during the concert, so I checked out youtube today and sure found a couple of short videos. They are quite good quality and give a little impression of the gig. :-)
Thanks to the filmers/uploaders! I saved them all as they are a great reminder of a wonderful evening. <3

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Mar. 17th, 2011 05:58 pmBut a miracle happened: I'm finally getting LJ notifs again! Woohoo! *lol* Getting loads of messages that were lost during these last few weeks now is a bit anoying though. Thanks, LJ. :p
A Happy St. Paddy's Day to everyone who cares for that kind of thing. :-)
Anyone here who celebrates it? I'm trying to think of some Irish/Ireland-related movies or TV shows I could watch later. Divorcing Jack, maybe? Father Ted? *ponders*
And I wore a green jumper for school today. :D No shamrocks though. *gg*
Speaking of school... We're in the middle of our 2-week test period at the moment. *eek*
Things aren't actually going too well for me. *sighs* Especially today's "Redacción de carta" (letter writing) as well as the "Specific Translation: German-English" yesterday were a complete disaster. :-( Spanish oral/interpreting today wasn't that great either...
As of now I only hope I somehow survive tomorrow (English interpreting *panics*) and the next week! All fingers crossed would be much appreciated. ;-)
Still don't have my new laptop. :-( It wouldn't boot anymore, so we had to give it back to have it checked/fixed. Hope they hurry, but it might take up to 3 weeks... Damn.
And in TV news:
The German DVD of Primeval series 4 will be released on 27 May. YAY!!! \o/ I'm really looking forward to that. :-) So I don't have to buy the UK version after all (I wouldn't have had a problem with that of course, but I already have the German releases of series 1-3, so... ;-)).
I'm halfway through Supernatural's season 5 now. There might be a slight chance for me to be all caught up before season 6 ends, after all. :D *lol*
And, after all the things I heard about it thanks to the FMM (Damn you! *lol* And I still wanted Eleven to win! *pouts*), I decided to give Community a try. ;-) So I watched the whole first season within 3 days (could have easily made that 2, but I had to at least pretend to be learning a little for my tests *lol*). I wasn't that enthusiastic about it at first, tbh. Didn't really think it was very funny either... But in the course of the season the characters have really grown on me. :-) I think my favourites are Abed, Jeff and Annie. And Troy might be up there with them soon, too. *g* But they're all great really.
And the paintball episode (1x23 "Modern Warfare") sure was awesome!! :D
Also, I just loved this scene. <3

Oh, and Pascal (the chameleon) is one of the cutest things ever!! ♥
Also this song is absolutely beautiful. <3
Zach Levi is actually a good singer. :-) Who'd have thought. :D
