- Dentist appointment tomorrow. *ugh* Definitely not keen on that. :-/

- I still have no placement for an internship... This sucks big time, especially as the internship period is actually supposed to start on 3 September already, which only gives me 2 more weeks now to find something... *is deperate* Seems pretty unlikely, when so far I wasn't able to find anything in the past 8-9 weeks, right? *facepalm* I have one more interview on Monday (please keep your fingers crossed again!! pleeeaaase), but if that doesn't work out, frankly I don't know what to do... :-/

- On the weekend I finally managed to "update" my framed stagedoor photos. :D Had to take 6 older pictures out to fit 3 of the new London ones in and it was really hard to arrange them so they all would fit into the frame... ;-) It seriously took me an hour or so. o_o *lol* But I'm quite happy with the result now. :-)

musicalframe-neu
(Sorry for picture quality here, especially in the bottom right area... Things and lights keep reflecting on the surface, so it's pretty hard to take a somewhat decent photo. ;-) *g*)

In the pictures (from left to right/ top to bottom, sort of *lol*): Michael Ball, Ben Mansfield, Philip Quast (yep, he's allowed to be in there twice <3), Reece Shearsmith, Simon Bowman, Norm Lewis, Killian Donnelly, Kasper Holmboe, Matt Rawle, Roger Allam, Veit Schäfermeier, Pia Douwes, Fredrik Wickerts, Thomas Borchert, Jörn Linnenbröker, Jerzy Jeszke, Aleks di Capri, Jens Janke, Felix Martin, Norbert Kohler and Olegg Vynnyk. Well, and myself, obviously, on some of them. ;D Some of the pictures are also autographed, but it doesn't show here too well...

This is what the frame looked like before btw, if you're interested. ;-) click

- Next week I'm gonna watch Sister Act again. *yay* Sadly the musical is leaving Hamburg on 26 August, so I had to take this as last oppurtunity... Already seen it once last year in July and enjoyed it so very much!! :D It's so much fun and many of the songs are really catchy. *g* Hope I'm as lucky with the cast as I was the last time. :-)

- Also, if everything goes according to plan (and my boss does actually remember that I want that day off... *rolleyes*) I'm going to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] fry_addict, [livejournal.com profile] maggi137 and [livejournal.com profile] vesperdavid in Hamburg on Saturday the 25th. Really looking forward to that! :-)

Yay!

Look what finally got here yesterday. \o/ *squeeee*

<3<3 So I can start watching series 2 at last, hopefully this evening. :-)

Also, my RDJ CD arrived today. *yay*

In other news: I'm going to start a 9-month further education as "Technical writer" in Hamburg this Friday. Wooo! On the one hand I'm really, really excited about it as it sounds very interesting and good. :-) On the other hand it'll quite probably be the most stressful time of my life so far... O_O Classes are from Monday to Friday, and I will have to get up at about 4.30 a.m. each morning to catch the 6.20 a.m. train to Hamburg. Also I won't be home until 7.15/7.30 p.m. except Fridays when classes end a bit earlier (home around 3.15/3.30 p.m. then)... *blergh* And there aren't gonna be any real holidays either except 1 (!) single week in July and the few public holidays we have this year. :-( *sighs*  BUT I hope it'll be all worth it and considerably raise my chances to find a proper job once I'm finished. Wish me luck! ;-)

I can't believe it's October already! O_O

I haven't been around LJ much lately. Mainly because the last two weeks I had my final exams at school. Eek! Can't believe the 2 year training is already over now. Most of the exams went okay, a couple of them even good IMO. But I also think I probably failed 3 of them and the Spanish oral/interpreting one yesterday was a complete disaster too... *sighs* I'm actually only allowed to fail one of the exams, so I better prepare myself mentally to maybe have to take some of them again... But maybe I shouldn't worry too much already and wait for the results first, right? ;-)

Today I spent some hours outside, which was lovely. Gorgeous summer weather in October is weird gorgeous!
I played around with my camera a bit and discovered this setting called "Sandstrahl" (sandblast) that I never noticed before. I quite like it. :-)
some pics )

I'm looking very much forward to watching the live streaming of the Phantom Anniversary Concert with [livejournal.com profile] fry_addict tomorrow. *yeah* Maybe I'm going to finally rewatch the 2004 Phantom Of The Opera movie tonight to get in the mood. :D

And last but not least, a happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] maryoftheriver. I hope you had a nice day!
luinalda: (Les Mis - Enjolras (Killian))
- So, yesterday it was time for our visit to the Rocky Horror Show in Hamburg. And it was just So. Much. Fun!!! :D The audience participation was just awesome! During the rain scene I actually thought that they had set of the sprinkler system (or maybe they had, who knows *g*), because it felt even more wet than the rain outside. *lol* The toilet paper and confetti throwing was great too. *gg* And I think everybody was on their feet during "Time Warp". :-)

I had hoped to see Rob Fowler as Frank 'N' Furter, but sadly he wasn't playing (apparently he had just been on holiday) and we had his cover, Matthew McKenna, instead. But Matthew was really great (and quite cute *ahem*)! As a matter of fact, the whole cast was very good. :-)

I felt a bit sorry for Sky Du Mont, who was the narrator, though. There were a couple of idiots people who yelled things like "Boring!" and "Get lost!" everytime he got on stage to do his thing... Ok, it probably really isn't the most interesting part of the show, but the narrator is still part of the show and movie - so get over it! But I don't think Sky was bothered too much by it anyway and he also had one or two good repartees ("You only have to listen to it once, but I have to do this every day." *gg*). ;-)

The Deutsches Schauspielhaus is really beautiful, btw. :-)
some theatre pics )

- It was back to school today. Six weeks of holiday just isn't long enough, is it? :p I really had to force myself out of bed this morning. *sighs* But the first day wasn't actually that bad.

- I should finish season 2 of Warehouse 13 tonight (I only have episode 2x12 and the Christmas one left). *yeah* And then I can start catching up on season 3. :D I'm really very much in love with the show by now. <3

- It's my cat's 1st birthday in exactly one week. \o/ Just sayin'.
luinalda: (DW - 11 handcuffs)
So Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) officially started today.
Here's what I hate about Kiel Week:
1) Traffic. It doesn't actually annoy me that much that there is probably more traffic than usual, but that I can't drive the ways I want, especially in the evenings. Well, I guess technically I could... ;-) But it's a lot more tedious and slow, so I rather drive a slightly longer way to avoid the crowded area.
2) Crowds. Yep, there are always far too many people in the city for my liking. Sorry. :p I like to walk quite fast when going from A to B and this just isn't possible anymore at the moment...
3) The weather. *lol* Ok, I realise that it isn't actually really Kiel Week's fault... But can it really be just coincidence that it always rains most of the time during Kiel Week?? :p

What I really like about Kiel Week though is that there are lots of concerts for free. :-) Ok, I'm mostly only interested in 1 or 2 of them each year, but it's the thought that counts. :D *gg*
Please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain Wednesday evening, because MerQury will be back then! \o/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just couldn't resist after all and bought two more Blue Nose Friends yesterday. *whistles innocently*
Patch and Dilly
They were the last 2 for the reduced price in the shop. Too bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Watched Simon Amstell's stand-up program "Do Nothing" on DVD yesterday. It was really good! :D Although a bit short maybe (60 mins.). ;-) And there was just so much I had heard on Grandma's House before... *lol*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OMG, it's that time of the semester again... There will be tests at school from Monday on for 2 weeks! O_O Nooooooo! *panics* The only upside is that afterwards we will have holidays until 14 August... I don't have any plans for them though, basically because I have NO BLOODY MONEY! *headdesk* :-((
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm doing a Snack Exchange with [livejournal.com profile] fantasy_bubbles, btw. So cool! :D I started buying the sweets today and it's just so much fun to choose them. I might get carried away with it a bit... *lol*
I will post a picture of what I sent her after she receives the package, because I don't want her to see beforehand. ;-)
luinalda: (Bomer/DeKay hug)
Got another Christmas card today. *yay*
Vielen lieben Dank, [livejournal.com profile] spirited_lizard!! Habe mich sehr gefreut. :-)

Not really much else to report...
Last day of tests tomorrow. Hurray! I'll be really glad if it's over again! ;-)
We actually still have our Spanish orals, interpreting and dictation to do (which were due on the day last week that classes were cancelled because of the weather), but they are postponed until January now. I'm very grateful they won't be on Thursday (first day of holidays!) as they first told us they would be. \o/ (Especially as I already have an appointment at the Jobcenter on Thursday which will be pretty unpleasant enough, I imagine. :p *do not want*)

Walked to school this morning, only to meet one of our teachers outside giving me a strange look and telling me that classes are cancelled for today... Yay!? Today's tests are therefore postponed until tomorrow.

Then about 8.15 a.m. it started snowing non-stop (!) until about 5/6 p.m. I think in the end we got between 5-10 cm of new snow. It's really lots and lots of fun having to drive in such weather. NOT!! *rolleyes*

Got another Christmas card today, from [livejournal.com profile] 87sal87. \o/ Thanks so much, hun!!! *big hug* It's really cute! <3 I also love the Wallace & Gromit stamp. :D

No school today! \o/ YAY! Thank you, snow! :D It comes in especially handy, because I didn't have today's homework. *whistles innocently* *lol*
Still have to go out later to buy some stuff, though...

Just spoke to my mother on the phone for almost 1.5 hours. She told me that my favourite aunt I. has breast cancer. :-( That sucks big time!! *is sad* She's currently in the hospital for an operation and I think some chemotherapy. The hospital is only a 5-10 minutes walk from my place, so I'll probably go visit her on the weekend.

Lots and lots of new snow today. And I mean LOADS of it! Everything is white now. All the streets are covered several centimetres high. And it's still snowing...
Our teacher was about 40 minutes late this morning (when it even wasn't quite as bad as it is now), because she was stuck in traffic jams. I'm really glad I'm able to walk there and don't have to rely on a car or public transport... But, on the upside, it looks like we'll have no school tomorrow! \o/ It's already announced in local traffic information that classes are cancelled for tomorrow, but just to make sure I'll check their website again tomorrow morning. Unfortunately I'll have to go out anyway for grocery shopping, as my fridge is alarmingly empty... *doh*

Woohoo, I bought some more cat stuff. :D Last week I bought a cat toilet. And today I brought home a nice cuddly cat bed, a "snack roll" (activity toy) and another small toy (see pic).

I guess things are slowly getting a bit more serious. *gg* Still a lot of stuff I need, though...
Also started a list with cat names. *g* Not easy, I tell you! :D

In other news: I totally failed at the Spanish grammar test today. *headdesk* Bugger, I didn't have a blackout this bad for a very long time. The first 2 tasks were somewhat okay (although I'm sure I have some things wrong there as well), but the other 2 were pretty much a total disaster... :-(( If I even get anything around 40-50% for this test, I would be more than happy... *sighs* And OF COURSE this had to be the test which counts the most into the semester end mark... *doh* *facepalm*
Let's just hope the rest of the week will be a bit better...

luinalda: (DFB - iz dead)

I didn't sleep last night. Seriously, I didn't sleep AT ALL!! *headdesk* I was up literally all night working on my freaking beloved Chile presentation! Well, I might have been able to go to bed for 2 hours or so after I was finally finished with it, but rather didn't because I feared I wouldn't wake up again in time then... ;-) So I just kept working and then even walked to school a bit earlier than I normally do. I utterly despise giving presentations (even more so giving them in Spanish! ;-)), and sure enough I stumbled a couple of times, but somehow I made it through, thank God... My teacher even said it was good (haha, whatever gave him that idea?), so apparently it wasn't a complete disaster after all. *gg*
I am just SO glad it is finally over!! I definitely don't want to hear anything about Chile again for at least the rest of the year! :p *lol* And now I finally have time to watch loads of TV and DVD again. \o/ :D

So, after school and some additional grocery shopping on my way back, I went straight to bed at 2 p.m. and slept for 6 hours. :p Still am totally knackered, but at least I don't have the feeling anymore that I might pass out at any moment. *lol*

And, concerning this FB/Twitter crossposting crap... please DO NOT re-post any of my entries, comments or anything else from my journal elsewhere! Thank you!

- Did get like 3-4 hours sleep last night, and totally feel like it too... *is dead*

- I couldn't resist any longer and ordered the Sherlock DVD last night! :D Hope it arrives quickly, so I can do a rewatch of the series. <3<3 Me obsessed much? Whatever gave you that idea? :p *lol*

- Still have to work on that effing Spanish Chile presentation, which I have to give on Thursday morning. DO NOT WANT! *sighs*

- Speaking of school... some more test results have come up.
  (English) Grammar: 92% (1)  [yay!]
  (English) Writing: 83% (2)  [that's not bad. considering the stupid stuff I wrote... *lol*]
  (English) Commerce: 70% (3+)  [should have been a bit better, I guess... ah well]
We should get the rest of them during this week, I think.
And only 3 more weeks now until the next test period... EEK!!!

luinalda: (DW - 11 hello)

- No more test results today. But we got a new teacher! He's an elder man (idk, late 50s? maybe even a bit older? I'm really bad at estimating age...) from England, but has lived in many places around the world, with his permanent home in France now. He's really very nice. :-)
Took us a bit by surprise when he walked in. :D Although we knew there'd be someone new, because our teacher A. left to go back to England before the holidays.

- Weird weather today. It couldn't really decide between strong wind, little rain showers or blue sky and sun... *lol* At the moment we have the latter, which is nice. :D

- Got an email that the "Stuart: A Life Backwards" DVD I ordered the other day on Ebay was dispatched today. Yay, I'm looking forward to that. :-) Maybe there's even a chance that it arrives for the weekend. *fingers crossed* Otherwise sometime next week, which would be fine too.

- Sorry I wasn't able to upload the rest of my London picspams yet... They will be here eventually... ;-)
