luinalda: (DW - 11 hello)
Hello all. Yep, as you can see I am still alive... ;-)

I thought it was finally time to make a proper entry again. Well, somewhat proper. It's more like a kind of retrospective update or something. *lol* Mostly an excuse to post pics of my Xmas presents and cat really... ;D

I had a very nice Christmas. :-) As always, I spent Christmas Eve with my parents and both grannies this time.

Our Christmas tree...

...and our Christmas dinner. And no, we didn't eat the cat. :p *lol* Just the goose. But it was delicious!

Xmas presents )

Christmassy cat )

Btw, this is the case I bought for my iPhone. It looks awesome! <3

From 30 December until 4 January I was in Berlin to visit my friend. I've always spent New Year's with her these last past years and we always have a great time! :-) On New Year's Eve we played some board games (Keltis, Dominion and Qwirkle Cubes) which was great fun. :D And in the new year we had a shopping day at Alexanderplatz & Friedrichstrasse and the next day went to the cinema to see The Hobbit. <3

I only took exactly one photo this time. *lol* (Well, and one of her dog, but it didn't actually turn out well...)

Oh, and here's the stuff I bought in Berlin. I basically spent almost all of my Christmas money... *whistles innocently* *gg*

Oh, and my cat had "helped" packing my suitcase for Berlin. Just so you know. :D *lol*

luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
- Didn't get to see Skyfall again yesterday after all. :-( Which probably means I won't see it again until it's released on BD/DVD ('cause I'm not too keen on seeing the dubbed version again)... *sighs*
But it'll be released one day before my (and Daniel Craig's *g*) birthday, so good idea for a birthday present methinks. :D

- Spent a lovely day shopping in Hamburg with my mum today. :-)
Also bought some stuff, of course. *g*

Ok, so I spent an unreasonable amount of money on this magazine. O_O
Magazine imports from the UK or US are quite expensive over here (between double to triple of the original price), so I don't usually buy them... But I REALLY wanted this, mostly for the awesome holographic cover! <3

Oh, and last thing I bought was the Singstar Queen game for PS2. :D

- Dentist appointment tomorrow. *donotwant*
luinalda: (NMTB quote - like everything)
So, I decided to finally jump on the e-book bandwagon and bought myself a Kindle. ;-)

It took me a while to decide which one to get. I was a bit torn between the Kindle Touch and the "normal" Kindle 4. Or maybe even wait for the Paperwhite?
In the end I chose the Kindle 4 though, as it seemed completely sufficient for my needs.

Well, I've had it for 2 weeks now and I totally love it! <3

And it definitely got me to read more again. \o/
In the 2 weeks that I've had it, I already finished 2 books and I'm already done with about a third of book number 3. Way to go, me! :D Before the Kindle I hadn't really found the enthusiasm to read at all anymore and therefore didn't read for weeks or even months...

In related book news:
I finally completed my collection and now own all of Wodehouse's "Jeeves" novels (+ stories). *yay*

I love the books! <3 So far I think "The Mating Season" was my favourite.
Currently I'm reading "Ring For Jeeves". It's the only one that doesn't feature Bertie, and I don't yet know quite what to make of it... But then again I've only read 2 or 3 chapters so far, so I've still got a bit of time to decide whether I like it or not. ;-) *g*
luinalda: (Sherlock - Boast-a-lot)
Last week I ordered some Sherlock related stuff, a bag and a t-shirt, which I received on Saturday. \o/

The bag instantly became my new standard bag that I use to travel to Hamburg for the training course every day. :D It's awesome!! Pretty decent quality too, it seems.
The shirt at first delivery was a bit too tight unfortunately (even though I checked and compared with their sizetable)... But you can easily send it back to the shop and have it exchanged for another size (you have to pay the postage though if the product value is less than 40€). So today my exchange shirt arrived and it fits now. *yay* Love it! <3 (I'm just glad I chose 2 sizes larger right away, or I would've had the same problem again. *gg*) That was really fast btw. I only sent I off Wednesday and 2 days later it's already here, wow! :-)

Thanks to [ profile] maggi137 for mentioning this online shop! *g* They have lots of other cool and nerdy stuff, so I'm sure I'll order something there again. :D
luinalda: (POTO25 - Raoul smile)
...that make you happy.

Good thing no. 1 & 2:

Yesterday I met up with [ profile] fry_addict in Hamburg. :-) Our third encounter. *g*
We went to Starbucks where we had a nice cup of coffee and, sitting in comfy armchairs at the window, chatted mainly about musicals/theatre, London/travelling and some fandoms. I had a very nice time. :-) Definitely would like to do this again sometime! Maybe in late spring when there's a chance of sitting outside in the sun or taking a nice walk? :-)

And this is what she brought me from her last London trip:

Autographs from Hadley Fraser and Ramin Karimloo. <3<3 *squeeeee* So. Much. Love!!!
Thank you so, so much for this, dear!! :-) *big hug* You can't imagine how happy this makes me. <3

Have found a good place for it now, too. :-)

BTW, did I already mention that, as I will be in London in mid-July, OF COURSE Hadley is leaving Les Mis in June... *facepalm* *cries* Sometimes I really think God hates me and doesn't want me to see my favourite people live on stage. :p FML. *lol*
Please, let's just all pray that at least I will be able to get a Sweeney Todd ticket and Michael Ball is actually playing then!! Pretty please? Thanks. :D

Good thing no. 3:

My parents picked up my "Game Of Thrones" BD box from the post office for me today. \o/ *yay*

The box looks really great! <3 Beautiful digipak with a little booklet that includes an episode guide, main characters overview, a map and a list of special features. And the bonus "photo book" is quite nice too (although nothing you would absolutely necessarily need I guess).
As I finished reading the first ASOIAF book last weekend I can finally start watching the TV series. \o/ (Yep, have not seen anything of it until now, although I would've had the opportunity to. Shame on me. :p) Sooo looking forward to it!!! *yeah* Starting later this evening with episode 1. :-)
luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
First of all, and I'm sorry I'm so late with this...
Thank you so much,[ profile] fry_addict, for the v-gift and the birthday greetings!! <3
Also thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday in their journal or on Facebook. :-)

Didn't have to work today for a change, so I went on a shopping spree through the city. :D
This is what I came home with: 2 pairs of jeans, 3 sweaters and 1 blouse.
Not bad! And except for the blue jeans they were all reduced in price by 20% too. :-) I'm very pleased with them and I really, really needed some new things. On the other hand, all my birthday is now already gone again... *boo-hoo*

Yesterday I kinda out of the blue decided that it was finally time to continue watching Battlestar Galactica. :D I mean, it's only been nearly 2 years since I watched the miniseries and season 1, so it's not that late is it...? :p *lol*
I watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 yesterday evening, and still think the show's awesome. <3 More episodes will follow this evening and tomorrow, hopefully. Only 58 episodes and 2 movies to go. ;-) *lol*

Oh, and I've joined today. So if anyone of you is there as well and wants to be friends, let me know. :-) Still have to find my way around there a bit, though. *g*

AND I finally have a internet flatrate for my phone now. \o/ Yeah, baby! So I'll probably be a bit more active on Twitter and Facebook from now on. :D (Add me there too if you haven't already, please.)

luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
Look what finally got here yesterday. \o/ *squeeee*

<3<3 So I can start watching series 2 at last, hopefully this evening. :-)

Also, my RDJ CD arrived today. *yay*

In other news: I'm going to start a 9-month further education as "Technical writer" in Hamburg this Friday. Wooo! On the one hand I'm really, really excited about it as it sounds very interesting and good. :-) On the other hand it'll quite probably be the most stressful time of my life so far... O_O Classes are from Monday to Friday, and I will have to get up at about 4.30 a.m. each morning to catch the 6.20 a.m. train to Hamburg. Also I won't be home until 7.15/7.30 p.m. except Fridays when classes end a bit earlier (home around 3.15/3.30 p.m. then)... *blergh* And there aren't gonna be any real holidays either except 1 (!) single week in July and the few public holidays we have this year. :-( *sighs*  BUT I hope it'll be all worth it and considerably raise my chances to find a proper job once I'm finished. Wish me luck! ;-)
luinalda: (DT - Fright Night)
Happy Birthday, [ profile] spirited_lizard!!! I hope you're having a wonderful day. :-)

In other news:
My "Fright Night" BD arrived from Amazon today. \o/ *yay*

Looking very much forward to rewatching the movie on the weekend. :-) I actually planned to watch it this evening, but then I finally started playing "The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion" on PS3 today and didn't stop for about 3 hours... xD I guess that means I'm really enjoying it. *gg* Anyway, it's a bit late now to start watching a movie I think, so I'll just watch the rest of the Quatsch Comedy Club anniversary show on TV now.
luinalda: (DW - 11 xmas)
Wow, haven't updated in ages it seems... :-( Mainly because I don't have much to say (nothing new there *lol*), but also because this time of year is always quite busy.
A big thanks to [ profile] spirited_lizard! I received your card today. :-) It's really cute plus I love the mini!advent calendar. <3
I'm gonna spend New Year's this year with my friend in Berlin again! *squee* It didn't happen last year (sadly), so I'm very happy about it. \o/ I'll be away from 27 Dec until 3 Jan. :-) My aunt + uncle are taking me along to Berlin in their car as they are going to see a musical there, and then I'll get home by train next year.
Lots of new stuff was being had in the last couple of weeks. :D

I'm lovin' Professor Layton (the series is actually one of my favourite for NDS!) and Mario Kart 7 (had never played a game of the series before. So. much. FUN!!! :D)! <3 Haven't had a go at Kingdom Hearts: Recoded and the Runaway game yet though...

Love him. And finally found this DVD for a good bargain price. :-)

And some presents I got for St. Nicholas' Day:

Yay!!! :D

Reindeer "Jingle" <3

chocolate! *yummy*

Also got 3 dishcloths and a bottle of Baileys Irish Cream <3.
So all in all a pretty good haul for the occasion. ;-) We usually only give each other a trifle...
In TV news: I'm finally all caught up with Primeval. \o/ About bloody time too I'd say. *lol* Also watched the Warehouse 13 Christmas Special yesterday (which was good!), so I'm all up-to-date with that that too, as well as with The Big Bang Theory and Community. I'm afraid I'm way behind with everything else though... O_O *ahem*
Next goal is to catch up with Doctor Who series 6 before the Christmas Special. :D I've got 7 episodes left and 11 days, so it should be doable. *g* ;-)
And last but not least: This is the last call to everyone who still wants a Christmas card from me. If you let me have your address until tomorrow afternoon at the latest you'll still get a card from me. :-) Then everything will be send off! ;-)
luinalda: (Wicked - Galinda squee)
Look what I just found in my letterbox. \o/

♥♥♥ *does the happy dance*
Care to guess what I'll be doing later? :D *gg*
Ramin!!!!! <3<3 Hadley!!!! <3<3 *happy sigh*

[ profile] maggi137: Nochmals vielen, vielen lieben Dank!! *bighugs*
luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
First of all, a happy belated birthday to [ profile] cherish4!! I hope a had a nice day! :-)

On Saturday I went to see Dieter Nuhr again. \o/ Totally can't believe it had already been more than a year since the last time... Where did that year go?!? o_o
Anyway, it was fantastic!! I had so much fun! Haven't laughed that much for quite a while. :D I really hope there'll be a DVD of this program, "Nuhr unter uns", next year! (I know a CD is gonna be released soon or soon-ish. *g*)
Afterwards I had a picture taken and got his autograph, of course. :-)

And here's some stuff I bought lately. :D )
luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
First of all, so I don't forget: a Happy Birthday to [ profile] dunkle_feuer!!
I hope you had a nice day. :-)

Yesterday I spent the whole day in Hamburg. Had a very good time. :-)
My original plan was to walk around a bit and take lots of pictures, but again I ended up mostly in the shopping areas... :p Didn't want to take pictures of the same things as the last time(s) either, so I only took about 15-20 pics in the end, and most of them not even of interest to anyone else but me. *g*

Read more + some pics )
luinalda: (Eeyore)
Weird weather today. One minute the sun is out and the next minute the sky's all grey or it's even raining... Definitely no real summer. :-(

I was in the city centre today to get some things. In one shop I stumbled upon this bed-linen set and as it was the only/last one of the kind I just had to buy it. So cute! <3

Also, this little fella was in the post on Friday. ♥

luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
Well, LJ finally seems to be back to normal. Hooray!! \o/

I was gonna post some more photos from during our living room renovation last week, but LJ was still quite a bit wonky at the time so I didn't... And now there's no need to anymore as the room's more or less finished (apart from a few little things like skirting boards). ;-) Also, the photo wallpaper thingy finally arrived yesterday. *yay* So as soon as we'll have that on the wall I'll take some pictures to show you. :-)

Bought some more My Blue Nose Friends stuff lately. <3 Guess I'm officially obsessed with them now. *lol*
But I can't help it, they are just too cute!!
N'awww )
Also bought another plushie on Ebay, but it's from an UK seller so it might take a couple of days longer to arrive.
Luckily I'm all out of money now, so I can't buy any more for a while... ;-) *gg*

I'm about to finish my Warehouse 13 Season 1 DVDs this evening. Just 2 more episodes to go. I really like this show a lot. :-) It's so much fun and I think I actually like all the characters (so far).
Oh, and I might have squeed a little at the sight of Mark Sheppard in episode 10, because I had totally forgotten that he was a guest star in the show. *gg* Definitely looking forward to seeing more of him in the next season. *yeah*
I'd really like to have a few Warehouse 13 icons, but I don't have any free icon space left at the moment. *boohoo* Guess I'll have to delete some old icons I don't use that often anymore eventually... *sighs* ;-)
luinalda: (Sherlock - dear diary)
Happy Birthday, [ profile] londonesque!! I hope you have a wonderful day! :-)

Obviously, I still didn't get around to post (or even write :p) my little Hamburg report... But will do so later today, or tomorrow at the latest!
I ought to be locked up and kept away from all shops in the future! LOL I always buy things that weren't planned, dammit! *g* ;-)
On Saturday I just wanted to browse through our two consumer electronics stores for a bit and I ended up buying 2 DVDs ("Burke & Hare" and "Inception"). Of course. :p
Today I was out to see if they already had the Primeval series 5 DVD (or "4.2", as it is called over here *rolleyes*), which will officially be released tomorrow. They did, so I bought it. *yay* Ok, that one was actually planned. But unfortunately they also had a good CD that was reduced to about half price, so I bought that one too. And then, when I was almost out of the "danger zone" so to speak... I saw this blouse and liked it a lot and just had to buy it as well.

So, now I'm pretty much broke again... Ah well, at least I'm used to the feeling by now. :D LOL

Oh, and a somewhat random question: Does anyone know why Benedict wasn't in the last episode (3x03) of Cabin Pressure?? Was it just this once or has he left permanently (God, I hope not!!)? I haven't listened to the episode yet in case it was explained there...
luinalda: (DW - 11 handcuffs)
So Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) officially started today.
Here's what I hate about Kiel Week:
1) Traffic. It doesn't actually annoy me that much that there is probably more traffic than usual, but that I can't drive the ways I want, especially in the evenings. Well, I guess technically I could... ;-) But it's a lot more tedious and slow, so I rather drive a slightly longer way to avoid the crowded area.
2) Crowds. Yep, there are always far too many people in the city for my liking. Sorry. :p I like to walk quite fast when going from A to B and this just isn't possible anymore at the moment...
3) The weather. *lol* Ok, I realise that it isn't actually really Kiel Week's fault... But can it really be just coincidence that it always rains most of the time during Kiel Week?? :p

What I really like about Kiel Week though is that there are lots of concerts for free. :-) Ok, I'm mostly only interested in 1 or 2 of them each year, but it's the thought that counts. :D *gg*
Please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain Wednesday evening, because MerQury will be back then! \o/

I just couldn't resist after all and bought two more Blue Nose Friends yesterday. *whistles innocently*

Patch and Dilly

They were the last 2 for the reduced price in the shop. Too bad.

Watched Simon Amstell's stand-up program "Do Nothing" on DVD yesterday. It was really good! :D Although a bit short maybe (60 mins.). ;-) And there was just so much I had heard on Grandma's House before... *lol*

OMG, it's that time of the semester again... There will be tests at school from Monday on for 2 weeks! O_O Nooooooo! *panics* The only upside is that afterwards we will have holidays until 14 August... I don't have any plans for them though, basically because I have NO BLOODY MONEY! *headdesk* :-((

I'm doing a Snack Exchange with [ profile] fantasy_bubbles, btw. So cool! :D I started buying the sweets today and it's just so much fun to choose them. I might get carried away with it a bit... *lol*
I will post a picture of what I sent her after she receives the package, because I don't want her to see beforehand. ;-)

For those of you who don't already know, I just love cute but otherwise rather useless things. :D
Something that falls into that category are "My Blue Nose Friends". They are just adorable. <3
Unfortunately they are a bit expensive and there aren't nearly as many available here as I saw in London, but I'm trying to build up a little collection nevertheless.

This is what I have so far.

click me! )

Right, and now I'm off to watch the last 3 episodes of Grandma's House. It's not bad; some really good lines there. Simon's cute in it anyway. ;D And according to Wikipedia a second series has been commissioned, so yay!

After that I'll probably watch the latest White Collar episode or Primeval (I'm 3 episodes behind atm). Or both if I have the time. *g*
luinalda: (London - telephone box)

- Happy Birthday, [ profile] kerry_louise!! Have a good one and enjoy your day! :-)

- I have a few more leftover Hamburg pics from Wednesday I thought I might share as well. *g*
Click me! )

- I'll be heading to the city later to look for some new clothes. Haven't done that in quite a while and I still have a bit of birthday money to get rid of spend. :D

luinalda: (Ben/David - fangirl moment)

- First of all, because I keep forgetting... Thanks for the v-gift, [ profile] utopian_sky!! :D

- Secondly, I see this pic spreading around and just had to share it too.

Awwwwww. Cuteness overload!!! ♥♥♥ Congrats to David and Georgia!! :-)

- I thought it was time to give myself a little treat again and ordered some DVDs and books online. :D
  > Tangled DVD  <3<3
  > Ocean's Eleven/Twelve/13 DVD box  - I've never seen any one of the movies before, but apparently they have Scott Caan in it, which is good enough for me at the moment. :D Plus it was quite a bargain price (9€, which means only 3€ per movie).
  > Over Her Dead Body DVD
  > "Thank you, Jeeves" and "Right Ho, Jeeves" by PG Wodehouse, which are the first two of the Jeeves novels. :-) (I already have the third one ("Code Of The Woosters"), but I figured it would be a good idea to buy these two first and start with them. *gg* ;-) )
I think they should arrive at the end of the week. :-)
