Happy Birthday, [livejournal.com profile] londonesque!! I hope you have a wonderful day! :-)

------------------------------

Obviously, I still didn't get around to post (or even write :p) my little Hamburg report... But will do so later today, or tomorrow at the latest!
------------------------------

I ought to be locked up and kept away from all shops in the future! LOL I always buy things that weren't planned, dammit! *g* ;-)
On Saturday I just wanted to browse through our two consumer electronics stores for a bit and I ended up buying 2 DVDs ("Burke & Hare" and "Inception"). Of course. :p
Today I was out to see if they already had the Primeval series 5 DVD (or "4.2", as it is called over here *rolleyes*), which will officially be released tomorrow. They did, so I bought it. *yay* Ok, that one was actually planned. But unfortunately they also had a good CD that was reduced to about half price, so I bought that one too. And then, when I was almost out of the "danger zone" so to speak... I saw this blouse and liked it a lot and just had to buy it as well.

So, now I'm pretty much broke again... Ah well, at least I'm used to the feeling by now. :D LOL
------------------------------

Oh, and a somewhat random question: Does anyone know why Benedict wasn't in the last episode (3x03) of Cabin Pressure?? Was it just this once or has he left permanently (God, I hope not!!)? I haven't listened to the episode yet in case it was explained there...
luinalda: (Snoopy & Woodstock)
Just wanted to wish [livejournal.com profile] maggi137 a very (and teeny bit belated *g*) Happy Birthday!!! *hugs* I hope you're having a fantastic time in London! :-)

Also, thank you [livejournal.com profile] caesaria and [livejournal.com profile] baka_yu for the v-gifts! :D

I had a great time in Hamburg today, btw. :-) I'll make a slightly more detailed entry about it tomorrow...

The '50s...

Today my parents, granny and I went to an exhibition about life in West Germany in the 1950s. It wasn't a very big one, but rather nicely done. Besides the actual exhibits there were lots of interesting facts to read too. And at the end of the exhibition there was a room where they showed a film which mainly consisted of commercials from that time. Quite amusing sometimes (we didn't watch it all to the end though). :D

Expandsome photos )

And on an unrelated note: Thank you [livejournal.com profile] cordeliadelayne for the v-gift! :-)
luinalda: (Les Mis - Enjolras (Killian))
My father is going to present my mother with tickets for the new Rocky Horror Show tour (which premieres tonight in Cologne) for her birthday and invited me to come along. \o/ Yeah, baby! :D I bloody LOVE the movie so much. <3 But I have never seen the show live before, so I'm quite excited about it! I booked the tickets yesterday for 14 August in Hamburg. I'm really looking forward to it. :-) The theatre (Deutsches Schauspielhaus) looks very posh, too!

Also, thanks for the v-gift, [livejournal.com profile] caesaria! I'm looking forward to tomorrow. :D (And am getting a bit nervous already...)
luinalda: (DW - 11 handcuffs)
So Kiel Week (Kieler Woche) officially started today.
Here's what I hate about Kiel Week:
1) Traffic. It doesn't actually annoy me that much that there is probably more traffic than usual, but that I can't drive the ways I want, especially in the evenings. Well, I guess technically I could... ;-) But it's a lot more tedious and slow, so I rather drive a slightly longer way to avoid the crowded area.
2) Crowds. Yep, there are always far too many people in the city for my liking. Sorry. :p I like to walk quite fast when going from A to B and this just isn't possible anymore at the moment...
3) The weather. *lol* Ok, I realise that it isn't actually really Kiel Week's fault... But can it really be just coincidence that it always rains most of the time during Kiel Week?? :p

What I really like about Kiel Week though is that there are lots of concerts for free. :-) Ok, I'm mostly only interested in 1 or 2 of them each year, but it's the thought that counts. :D *gg*
Please keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain Wednesday evening, because MerQury will be back then! \o/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just couldn't resist after all and bought two more Blue Nose Friends yesterday. *whistles innocently*
Patch and Dilly
They were the last 2 for the reduced price in the shop. Too bad.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Watched Simon Amstell's stand-up program "Do Nothing" on DVD yesterday. It was really good! :D Although a bit short maybe (60 mins.). ;-) And there was just so much I had heard on Grandma's House before... *lol*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OMG, it's that time of the semester again... There will be tests at school from Monday on for 2 weeks! O_O Nooooooo! *panics* The only upside is that afterwards we will have holidays until 14 August... I don't have any plans for them though, basically because I have NO BLOODY MONEY! *headdesk* :-((
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm doing a Snack Exchange with [livejournal.com profile] fantasy_bubbles, btw. So cool! :D I started buying the sweets today and it's just so much fun to choose them. I might get carried away with it a bit... *lol*
I will post a picture of what I sent her after she receives the package, because I don't want her to see beforehand. ;-)

TV talk

They are showing the first season of Warehouse 13 on German TV at the moment (2 episodes in a row every Wednesday). I started watching it out of curiosity and I must say that I really like it. :-)
The last two aired episodes were "Claudia" (1x04) and "Elements" (1x05). I had missed the pilot episode due to the Hugh Laurie concert, but just watched that one too (Yay for the internet! ;-)). Very enjoyable show with cool characters. :D Will definitely continue watching and probably get the DVDs when they are released over here.
Oh, and nice to see Joe Flanigan in episode "Elements" btw. <3 Took me a bit by surprise though. *g* When I switched back after commercials and saw him, I thought for a few seconds that I had the wrong channel and was in some SGA rerun or something. *lol* (And yes, I should have noticed then that he wasn't wearing a uniform. :p *gg*)

Also watched the Community season 2 paintball finale. Which was pretty awesome! I especially loved the first part, "A Fistful Of Paintballs". <3 The opening credits sequence was already epic and it had Sawyer Black Rider. *yays* :D But the Star Wars themed "For A Few Paintballs More" was quite cool, too. Abed as Han Solo = ♥

And on an unrelated note I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] baka_yu for the vgift! *hugs*

Mhh, don't really have anything interesting to talk about lately...
Just a couple of small things:

- I'm currently re-doing my profile page a bit. Adding some banners and stuff, which is kinda fun. :D (If anyone of you knows any comms or journals where I can find some nice "lovebars" of shows/people I've listed, please let me know! I'm having rather some difficulties there...)

- I dreamt of one of my f-listers last night, who, of course, I've never seen in real life (well, I've only met 3 people from my f-list in person so far, so chances were high *gg*)! :D *lol* Might this be a sign that I've been hanging around LJ too much lately? :p *gg* It was only an episode of a longer dream, and while maybe a bit weird I think it was quite pleasant. I actually only remember that I promised to drive this person to the station from where she could take the train home. I also remember seeing some kind of map. Geography was a bit nuts though. *lol* With me being in Germany and her living in England it should have been necessary to cross the English Channel at some point... ;-) But apparently it wasn't because our countries were adjoined in my dream. Hahaha! Like I said, weird. :D

- I'm almost caught up with Hawaii Five-0 now. *yay* Should be able to watch the rest tonight. :-) And then season finale on Monday already! Whoah! Is there any announcement yet if the show will be renewed for another season?? I sure hope it will be!!! *all fingers crossed* Also think I should post another picspam soon. :D

So, Hugh Laurie concert in Hamburg last night. :D And it was awesome!!! \o/ Not that I expected anything else, of course. *gg* I'm quite bad at writing reports, but I'll give it a go. ;-) *lol*

We met up at about 5 p.m. (we were 6 people) and then went to a Thai restaurant on the Reeperbahn. I have no idea anymore what my dish was called (something with chicken *g*), but it was very yummy. :-) We ate and talked and had a nice time. At about 7.30 p.m. we left the restaurant and went over to the concert's location, the Café Keese. Doors had already opened at 7 p.m. and there was still quite a long queue waiting outside. But we got inside comparatively quick nevertheless.
The Café Keese isn't that big really and it was already very crowded. We made our way to about the middle of the room on the right side and stayed there. The stage was pretty low and frankly we couldn't really see anything. A bit of the microphone at the most, if we were lucky. ;-) *g* And it was really hot!
At 8 p.m. the band came on stage and started playing, and at some point Hugh must've joined them because the crowd started cheering some more. *gg* I didn't really see him at first, but caught some glimpses eventually.
He greeted us with some German sentences. :D Don't remember them exactly, but something along the lines of "Guten Abend" (good evening), "Willkommen..." (welcome) and "Mädchen und Jungen" (girls and boys). He also said then that that was actually all he knew in German. *g* And asked how many of us understood English. :D

My view actually got much better after about half of the concert and I could see Hugh quite without problems when he was standing at the microphone in the middle of the stage. *yay* I still had some problems when he was sitting at the piano on the left side, but at least I could see most of his head for most of the time then. *lol*

At the end, they got off the stage and when they came back on once more, Hugh said that that was actually all they had but they could just start all over again. *lol* We sure wouldn't have minded. :D They played one more song and then it was over (~ 9.30 p.m.).

I really enjoyed the music (even though I don't normally listen to Blues tbh) and I'm definitely going to buy his album! :-) [BTW, can somebody tell me why the German Amazon lists it twice? Both with different prices and release dates? *is confused*]. I think I liked 3 songs in particular. One of them was "Let them talk". I don't remember the titles of the other ones, so I'll have to try and find them on the CD. *g*

I thought the audience was in a pretty good mood too. :-) Altogether nice atmosphere.
Several people wore House shirts (who'd have thought, right? :p) which I didn't really find that appropriate, but ok... There was also one guy in a complete House outfit. He was standing a bit in front of me during the concert and kept waving his cane around every now and then, and afterwards, when we were still standing outside talking, we saw him "limping by" (seriously!). *lol* IDEK.

Sorry I'm late. I meant to post yesterday but then... forgot. *fails*

And a Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] arielen! Hope you're having a nice day too. :-)

- Just finished watching last Friday's Graham Norton Show. Guests were David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Josh Groban and Jon Richardson (no idea who he is really *sorry*). It really was very entertaining! I laughed so much!! :D Loved David's stories about the "autograph under the shower" and his spleen with the socks ("David, you crazy?" *lol*).LMAO And I quite liked the song Josh Groban performed. :-)

- Looks like I'll get my new laptop back this weekend. \o/ FINALLY!!!! About bloody time, really! *lol* All in all it's been, um, I don't know... about 5-6 weeks?! *eek*

- Just one more week until Hugh Laurie now! *yay* I'm really getting quite excited. :D Apparently I'm going to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] maggi137 and [livejournal.com profile] fry_addict before the gig. :-)
