luinalda: (DW - 11 hello)

- No more test results today. But we got a new teacher! He's an elder man (idk, late 50s? maybe even a bit older? I'm really bad at estimating age...) from England, but has lived in many places around the world, with his permanent home in France now. He's really very nice. :-)
Took us a bit by surprise when he walked in. :D Although we knew there'd be someone new, because our teacher A. left to go back to England before the holidays.

- Weird weather today. It couldn't really decide between strong wind, little rain showers or blue sky and sun... *lol* At the moment we have the latter, which is nice. :D

- Got an email that the "Stuart: A Life Backwards" DVD I ordered the other day on Ebay was dispatched today. Yay, I'm looking forward to that. :-) Maybe there's even a chance that it arrives for the weekend. *fingers crossed* Otherwise sometime next week, which would be fine too.

- Sorry I wasn't able to upload the rest of my London picspams yet... They will be here eventually... ;-)

luinalda: (DW - 11 facepalm)

Today was the first day back to school. I already miss the holidays. :p *gg* Too bad we won't have any again until Christmas... *sighs*

We were given our Spanish tests back. Most of them weren't too great, as I already knew...
Grammar: 75% (2-)  [I'm quite glad though, I thought it would even be a bit worse, seeing how I struggled during the test *lol*]
Reading comprehension & vocabulary: 92,5% (1)  [that's fine]
Writing: 68% (3)  [yeah, not really good... I was running out of time during the 2nd exercise, so I a) wrote a good deal less than minimum and b) hadn't any time left to check for mistakes afterwards... so especially exercise 2 was pretty much a mess]
Listening comprehension: 85% (2+)  [that's alright]
Dictation: 70% (3+)  [should have been better too :-( some really stupid mistakes as well... *doh*]

Still need our Spanish oral marks, but actually I'm not too keen on that... *lol*

Also got back the first English test today, "Business letter composition". There were so many expressions I couldn't remember during the test, and I also left out 2 or 3 things we should have put in there... But I still have 86% (2+), so yay! Really didn't expect that. :-) It was even the second best of the class. :D
Not really looking forward to the other English tests. It can only get worse now... :p

And, to finish this post, a little random fact: Today I actually went and bought... a cat toy! *lol* Still no cat anywhere near to be seen, but I just couldn't resist. :D Can't hurt to get ready, can it? *gg* ;-)

Gosh, what a heat! According to my thermometer I have 30 °C in my room. *yikes* I just changed into my bikini. *lol* You couldn't possibly wear less, but still it's way too hot... *melts*

Finally, test week at school is over. Hurray!! Most of the tests didn't go too well for me, I'm afraid...
:-( Especially the orals, but actually I always suck at those, so nothing new there. *lol* BTW, whoever decided it would be a good idea to let us write an English essay on a Friday afternoon when it's incredibly hot outside, deserves to be smacked. :p *lol*

So, summer holidays now! YAY!!! <3 Which means that - apart from 2-3 days a week I have to work, and the Spanish presentation I have to prepare about Chile for after the holidays (Help! O_O) - I will have quite a lot of spare time over the next 6 weeks. \o/ That sounds lovely. Maybe I finally can continue watching some of my shows. ;-) I just realised that I haven't actually watched anything for nearly 2 weeks now (mainly because I had to study and it was too hot anyway)... O_O So time to change that, methinks. :D

I received a notification yesterday that I can collect my travel documents for our London trip from the travel agency. *yay* So I will go there tomorrow and get them. :-) Only 3 more weeks now!! \o/ I'm getting so excited!! <3 I'll start counting the days!! :D

luinalda: (DT - NMTB laugh)
Today was the first day back at school after the one week computer course. Now we're already in the 2nd semester - wow, how quick that first half year went by!

We got our marks for the English listening comprehension test. I have a 2 (83%). *yay* Which is better than I had expected, considering I had to guess some of the answers... *lol* :D

After going through the answers for the test, we listened to a short story (podcast). Read in Scottish accent!! ♥ I nearly squeed when our teacher told us beforehand it would be in Scottish English! Definitely couldn't help letting out a little "Yay!". :D Think I was the only one who was delighted, though. *lol* ;-)
There's just nothing better than Scottish accent. <3 *sighs*

New Week

luinalda: (Jamie Bamber)
Can't believe the weekend is already over and it's Monday again... How time flies by!! *sighs*
I SO didn't do anything yesterday. Was in bed until 2 p.m. *coughs* (I blame the clock change :p *g*), then spent most of the time on the Internet, and also watched "Bridget Jones's Diary" and episodes 3x01 & 3x02 of How I Met Your Mother (Yay me! *lol*).

First day of computer course wasn't that bad. We worked with Word today, and at least I learned a few hot keys. ;-)
I guess the next two days will cover Excel and Powerpoint, and then on Thursday we'll have some sort of recap and a little test.

Apparently my BSG Box was shipped today. *yay* So it should actually be here before Easter. I'm getting pretty excited about it! :D

luinalda: (John Simm - sunny)

Another beautiful day today. :-) I even was outside without a jacket, because it's quite warm. :D Seems like spring really is here at last. *yay*

I'm so glad that exam week is almost over again. ;-) Just one more day to go, with Spanish reading comprehension/vocabulary and English grammar + writing skills tomorrow.

Today we had our Spanish orals, which actually wasn't as bad as I had feared. *g* [And way better than my English oral on Tuesday... *lol*] We were in pairs again, and had about 10 minutes to prepare. First we had to talk a bit about ourselves (name + age, where we live, hobbies,...). Then we had a selection of topics (e.g. our last holidays, plans for the next weekend, our pets) from which we had to choose 2 or 3 and ask our partner questions about. And then there was a little picture story, where we had to describe the pictures and tell the story together. Oh, and also we were given a situation ("going to the pharmacy with toothache"), and had to do a short dialogue with it (one of us as the pharmacist and the other as the customer). Well, all in all I think it went alright.
Afterwards we had our English listening comprehension test. It was ok too, although I had to guess the answers a few times... *lol*

Next week we have 4 days of computer course (MS Office). I hope it's not only the very basics, because that could get a bit boring... But we'll see and hope it'll be fun nevertheless. ;-)
And the week after that already starts the new semester (wow, that half year went so fast!) with a new time-table.

Today after school I met up with my mum in the city and we did a bit of shopping/browsing together. It was nice.
I bought series 4 of "How I Met Your Mother". <3 I know I haven't even watched series 3 yet (I intend to start this weekend!!), but the price wasn't bad, so I couldn't resist. :p
And I finally had my first proper ice cream this year! *yummy* :D

Oh, and by the way, my LJ comments counter works again. Hooray!!

luinalda: (Rodney - oh no)

Got loads of new snow today. *sighs* I must admit everything looks really pretty all in white. But I've really had enough of it by now and want it to go away, please. I was about 10 minutes late this morning because I didn't want to risk slipping and breaking my legs...

There's a bright side though: no school again tomorrow. YAY! :D
Which is very handy, because otherwise I would have needed to prepare a short news presentation in Spanish for tomorrow, but now I can just relax and watch some TV. :p

Due to the "bad" weather conditions there was a cancellation of classes in all of Schleswig-Holstein today. YAY! Thank you, snow + ice! :D
So I spent a really lazy day at home, mostly watching TV/DVD and browsing the internet. :-p

Again didn't post in a while... But there isn't really much going on at the moment...

Today it's snowing again. According to the weather forecast there is even more snow to come on the weekend. Well, I start getting a bit fed up with it, to be honest...

Bought a new jacket yesterday, which I really like a lot. :-)
Its original price was 80€. But it was reduced to 50€ and there also was a special discount, so that in the end I paid 36€, which I think is a good price.

(click photo to enlarge)

We got the rest of our exam results now, at least of the English ones.
- Reading comprehension: 1 (96%)
- Vocabulary & Phonology: 1- (88%)
- Listening comprehension: 1- (89%)
- oral: 2-
I'm actually happy with all of them. :-)
Our Spanish teacher still didn't give us the promised list with our marks. Ah, well, I'm sure there'll come the day when we get it. ;-) *gg* Oh, but she mentioned that her belly isn't getting bigger because she's eating too much pizza. :D That was a bit of news. So she'll be leaving us around May.

I finally gotten around to redecorate one of my bedroom walls.
(click photo to enlarge)
I think I'm quite pleased with that. The pictures of Torchwood and SGA weren't there before, and the big Doctor Who poster is new (before there was one with Ten + TARDIS).
And just for completeness, here are the other posters + pics in my bedroom. ;-) They've all been there for a long while now, though.

Do you all still remember me? ;-) *gg*
I must admit I have been a bit too lazy to post anything lately... *blushes* :-( Also didn't really comment, sorry, though I always read all my f-list's entries. *hugs*
But I definitely intent to be more active and post regularly again!!

Well, frankly, there hasn't been too much interesting stuff to tell anyway. *g*
School started again on January 7. Apart from English grammar + writing, we still didn't get back our exam results yet, which kinda annoys me. *hmpf* We did get a look on some of our Spanish exams last week, but our teacher still hasn't managed to mark them yet, so we don't really know where we stand. *doh* Ah well, I hope next week will bring a bit more clarity. ;-)
I got a 2+ in English writing. *yay* Which is far better than I had expected, considering the nonsense I wrote. *lol* But I only had about 4-5 grammatical mistakes which was what mattered in the end.
In English grammar I got a 2- (78%). I'm quite content with that.

In other news, I discovered some fish eggs in my aquarium yesterday! *very excited* I tried to take a picture but it turned out very blurry and you can't really see anything...
So fingers crossed that all goes well and I'll have some little ones soon. :-)

Spanish grammar exam was alright. I did some guesswork on the "muy/mucho" exercise (I wasn't in class when it was covered), and also on the one with the prepositions (I'm never good with them in any language *gg*), but apart from that it went quite well. Or so I hope. :D
Our teacher was more than 15 minutes late though, because apparently she isn't used to come in on tuesdays (we always have someone else for Spanish on tuesdays) and only remembered after a while that there was something about an exam today. *lol* Well, at least we had to do two exercises less because of that, so that wasn't such a bad thing. *g*
