I just watched "How To Lose Friends & Alienate People". A really good movie, very funny. :-) I totally enjoyed it. Simon Pegg was great, as always.
Of course the movie isn't exactly very profound and some of the jokes certainly weren't new, but it's still good entertainment.

Ich habe mir gerade "New York für Anfänger" angesehen. Ein wirklich guter Film, sehr lustig. :-) Hat mir total gut gefallen. Simon Pegg war wie immer großartig.
Natürlich ist der Film nicht gerade sehr tiefgründig und einige der Gags waren sicher nicht neu, aber es ist trotzdem gute Unterhaltung.

Shopping

Today I did a bit of shopping. I bought two nice summer dresses. They were both on sale, so I only paid 18€ altogether. :-) I was also looking for some decent short-sleeved pyjamas, but didn't really find anything.
So I walked back home, enjoying the good weather. Pity I didn't have my camera with me, I could have taken some nice pictures on the way.
Now I'm off to an employee meeting at work...

Heute war ich ein bisschen Shoppen. Ich habe 2 nette Sommerkleider gekauft. Sie waren beide im Ausverkauf, so dass ich insgesamt nur 18€ bezahlt habe. :-) Ich habe auch nach ein paar vernünftigen kurzärmeligen Schlafanzügen geguckt, aber nicht wirklich was gefunden.
Also bin ich wieder nach Hause gegangen und habe das gute Wetter genossen. Schade, dass ich meinen Fotoapparat nicht dabei hatte, sonst hätte ich ein paar nette Fotos auf dem Weg machen können.
Jetzt mache ich mich auf den Weg zu einer Mitarbeiterversammlung auf der Arbeit...

Shopping

Krod Mandoon

Finally watched the first series of "Kröd Mändoon And The Flaming Sword Of Fire" now. Well, I don't really know what to think of it. It's a rather silly little show. *gg* It wasn't strictly my kind of humour (it's a bit too cheesy at times), but I admit it had it's funny moments. And it was entertaining nevertheless.
Matt Lucas as the villain Dongalor was pretty hilarious. *lol* And I have to say that Sean Maguire, who plays Krod, is quite handsome. *yum* ;-)
I actually watched the whole thing because of James Murray and Roger Allam. Roger (General Arcadius) sadly wasn't it it too much, but his character was nice. *g* James (Ralph Longshaft - "It's spelled 'Ralph', pronounced 'Rafe'." ;-)) was in the last 4 episodes. By now I even don't mind his beard anymore (I'm not a fan of beards...), it was actually quite fitting. Interesting character as well.
I'm curious if they'll do a second series some day. But it doesn't really look like it...

Habe nun endlich die erste Staffel von "Kröd Mändoon And The Flaming Sword Of Fire" gesehen. Mhh, ich weiss nicht wirklich, was ich davon halten soll. Es ist eine ziemlich alberne kleine Serie. *gg* Es war nicht unbedingt meine Art von Humor (ist manchmal ein bisschen zu geschmacklos), aber ich muss zugeben, dass es einige lustige Momente gab. Und es war nichtsdestotrotz unterhaltsam.

Mittlerweile stört mich auch sein Bart nicht mehr wirklich (ich bin kein Freund von Bärten...), eigentlich war der recht passend. Auch ne interessante Rolle.
Ich bin gespannt, ob es irgendwann eine zweite Staffel geben wird. Aber es sieht nicht wirklich danach aus...

I now have deleted my "MySpace" and "wer-kennt-wen" accounts as I didn't ever use them anyway...
In exchange I registered with "Facebook" today. It's all new to me, so I still have to find out how everything's working. I don't know yet if I'll be sticking to it in the long run, but I will definitely try it out for several months and see how things are going. Although I probably won't be around as much as here on LJ. ;-)

Ich habe nun meine "MySpace" und "wer-kennt-wen" Accounts gelöscht, da ich diese eh nie benutzt habe...
Dafür habe ich mich heute bei "Facebook" registriert. Es ist alles noch neu für mich, daher muss ich erstmal herausfinden wie alles funktioniert. Ich weiss noch nicht, ob ich auf Dauer dabeibleiben werde, aber ich werde es auf jeden Fall für einige Monate ausprobieren und gucken wie es läuft. Auch wenn ich wahrscheinlich nicht so oft vorbeischauen werde wie hier bei LJ. ;-)

I now have deleted my "MySpace" and "wer-kennt-wen" accounts as I didn't ever use them anyway...
In exchange I registered with "Facebook" today. It's all new to me, so I still have to find out how everything's working. I don't know yet if I'll be sticking to it in the long run, but I will definitely try it out for several months and see how things are going. Although I probably won't be around as much as here on LJ. ;-)

V For Vendetta

Yesterday evening I watched "V For Vendetta". What a great movie! :-) I didn't really expect to enjoy it as much as I did. To be honest I actually expected some kind of a dumb action movie, so I was very pleasantly surprised with this.
The cast is superb, especially Hugo Weaving as "V" of course. Loved his voice in this! Natalie Portman did a pretty good job too, though I'm usually not overly fond of her. Also nice to see some other actors I like in supporting roles: Stephen Fry, Roger Allam, Ben Miles...  The story is very interesting and suspenseful. And a little alarming as well, with the totalitarian regime and everything.

Gestern abend habe ich mir "V wie Vendetta" angesehen. Was für ein klasse Film! :-) Hätte echt nicht erwartet, dass er mir so gut gefällt. Um ehrlich zu sein hatte ich eigentlich eine Art von dummen Actionfilm erwartet, daher war ich hiervon sehr positiv überrascht.
Die Cast ist grossartig, vor allem natürlich Hugo Weaving als "V". Ich liebe seine Stimme in diesem Film! Natalie Portman hat ihre Sache auch ziemlich gut gemacht, auch wenn ich sie normalerweise nicht übermässig gerne mag. War auch nett ein paar weitere Schauspieler, die ich mag, in Nebenrollen zu sehen: Stephen Fry, Roger Allam, Ben Miles...  Die Story ist sehr interessant und spannend. Und auch ein wenig beängstigend, mit dem totalitären Regierung etc

WTF

Wasn't able to get to my Livejournal at all on friday and saturday, or anything else on LJ for that matter. *grrrrr* Don't know if it was generally down or if it was only a problem with my internet connection. Anyway, it was really quite annoying. :-( But at least it's working again since this morning. *yeah*

Konnte den ganzen Freitag und Samstag mein Livejournal nicht erreichen, und auch sonst nichts anderes bei LJ. *grrrrr* Weiss nicht, ob es generell down war oder ob's nur ein Problem mit meiner Internetverbindung gab. Jedenfalls war es wirklich sehr nervig. :-( Aber wenigstens funktioniert es seit heute morgen wieder. *freu*

Random stuff

- Didn't quite manage to finish with "The Armstrong & Miller" Show yesterday, because I kept falling asleep on the sofa after episode 6 (well, it was rather late ;-) ) and had to go to bed... Will watch the last episode tonight though.
- Finished re-reading "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince" today, so now I'm all prepared to go to the cinema and watch the movie as soon as I find the time. *g* Not sure what I will be reading next. *mhh* Think it'll be either "Tintenblut" (Inkspell) or the second "Dexter" novel.
- I'm still mulling over what I should be wearing for my cousin's wedding tomorrow. I only have one dress, so that'll probably have to do. It's supposed to be very hot tomorrow so I don't really want to be stuck in long trousers...

- Habe es gestern nicht ganz geschafft "The Armstrong & Miller Show" zu Ende zu gucken, da ich nach Folge 6 immer wieder auf der Couch eingeschlafen bin (nun, es war halt ziemlich spät ;-) ) und ins Bett gehen musste... Werde mir die letzte Folge aber heute abend ansehen.
- Bin heute damit fertig geworden "Harry Potter und der Halbblutprinz" nochmals zu lesen, so dass ich nun darauf vorbereitet bin, ins Kino zu gehen und mir den Film anzusehen sobald ich die Zeit dazu habe. *g* Bin mir nicht sicher was ich nun als nächstes lesen werde. *mhh* Ich denke es wird entweder "Tintenblut" oder der zweite "Dexter" Roman.
- Bin immer noch am hin und her überlegen, was ich morgen zu der Hochzeit meiner Cousine anziehen soll. Ich habe nur ein einziges Kleid, also wird das wohl ausreichen müssen. Es soll morgen sehr heiss werden, daher will ich nicht wirklich ne lange Hose tragen...

And again...

This morning I was at the dentist's again. The last two carious teeth were fixed. Now I only have to return for a polishing next month and finally that's it for the time being. *phew* Then I won't have to go again for half a year until the next regular precautionary checkup is due. *yay*

Watched Torchwood episode 2x09 "Something Borrowed" on TV. It's an quite entertaining episode. *gg* Though the German episode title is terribly daft. *doh*
Think I'll watch the last 3 episodes of "The Armstrong & Miller Show" now and then I'll be off to bed.


Heute morgen war ich wieder beim Zahnarzt. Die letzten beiden kariösen Zähne wurden in Ordnung gebracht. Nun muss ich nächsten Monat nur nochmal zum Polieren hin und das war's fürs Erste endlich. *uff* Dann muss ich erst in einem halben Jahr wieder zur regulären Vorsorgeuntersuchung. *yay*

Habe mir im TV die Torchwood Folge 2x09  "Die Braut, der vor nichts graut" angesehen. Die Folge ist recht unterhaltsam. *gg* Auch wenn der deutsche Episodentitel selten dämlich ist. *doh*
Ich denke ich werde jetzt die letzten 3 Folgen von "The Armstrong & Miller Show" gucken und dann gehe ich ins Bett.

The Armstrong & Miller Show

I just watched the first 3 episodes of "The Armstrong & Miller Show - Series 1" (the 2007 series) and find it very enjoyable. :-) Well, as I love Ben Miller at the moment anyway and also like Alexander Armstrong, I couldn't really go much wrong. *g* Of course I don't find all of the sketches funny, but most of them are entertaining and some even quite hilarious. *lol* 
Can't really decide on favourite characters yet. *mhh* Maybe after I have finished the series. ;-)
Might watch some more now. Pity I only have 4 episodes left...

Back from holidays

Just returned from my two-week holiday to England this evening. Little by little I will add short summaries and some pictures for each day. So don't be surprised when you find something that wasn't there before when you visit again. ;-) *g* 

Bin heute abend gerade von meinem zweiwöchigen Urlaub in England zurückgekommen. Ich werde nach und nach eine kurze Zusammenfassung und ein paar Fotos für jeden Tag hinzufügen. Also nicht wundern falls ihr etwas vorfindet, das vorher noch nicht da war, wenn ihr wieder vorbeischaut. ;-) *g*
